5 days of off piste skiing in Aosta valley, Italy
In a typical off-piste skiing week in the Chamonix area, a day in Courmayeur is a popular favorite with guests, so why not explore the area further and ski there for a week? The lifts on the Italian side of Mont Blanc offer access to amazing off-piste terrain.
Starting from the iconic and unforgettably rustic Youla and Arp cable cars, superb descents can be found in the Val Veny, Arp and Dolonne valleys. Tree skiing from the Gabba lift offers great terrain for all abilities. The new Skyway cable car can even whisk you up to 3500 metres in under 10 minutes, giving unrivalled and easy access to the Toula glacier and the world-famous Vallee Blanche.
A visit to La Thuile gets us even further off the beaten track, with the possibility to descend into La Rosiere on the French side of the Petit Saint Bernard pass. The stunning views of the Mont Blanc south face and the glacial expanse of the Rutor never disappoints. With the Mont Blanc Unlimited ski pass we can also quickly drive through the Mont Blanc tunnel and access the terrain in Chamonix if the conditions are better there…
A stay in Courmayeur will also give you the opportunity to enjoy the chic and traditional Italian restaurants, shops, bars and cafès lining the Via Roma in the heart of the village. A fireside aperitivo in the Café de la Poste after a great day skiing, or a trip to the relaxing spa baths at Pre Saint Didier, Courmayeur certainly has it all – che bella!
